American AOR, enveloped in graceful melodies and warm vocals.
This is the solo debut album from Nashville-born singer-songwriter Fred Knoblock. "Why Not Me" reached number 15 on the US Billboard charts, and he became a bridge between soft rock and AOR.
This album is a fine example of early '80s AOR, combining warm vocals with smooth arrangements. "Why Not Me" is a tender love song with strings and a soft sound production. The harmony between guitar and piano is also excellent, highlighting the precise studio work that is unique to Nashville artists. The album exudes a refined mellowness throughout, bridging the gap between pop and adult contemporary music.
