Between illusion and reality - The swaying empire, the awakening sound universe
The far north of post-psychedelic. A solitary musical world depicted with dense sound images and a strange sense of language. A revolutionary work in Japanese rock in the early 2000s.
Released in 2003, "Nama Shi Bi Re Na Ma Me Mai" is an album that represents the culmination of Yura Yura Teikoku's psychedelic rock style, and at the same time, it is a work that completely renews the possibilities of "modern Japanese rock". Shintaro Sakamoto's storytelling vocals, the guitar riffs that cut the sound, and the rhythm section that sinks into the air all intertwine to form a worldview that seems to shake the boundary between dreams and reality. The songs, which intertwine the everyday and the extraordinary, are addictive and leave a deep impression on the listener. Literary, mysterious, and sharp - this is a controversial work and a masterpiece that is filled with the characteristics of Yura Yura Teikoku. The linguistic experimental sense of the title is also excellent.
