"Beatitude" shows a different musical perspective from that of the Cars.
Ric Ocasek is best known as the frontman of The Cars, but on this album he is freer to explore his own musical style. The sound, heavily using synthesizers, is experimental and forward-thinking, going beyond the boundaries of new wave. This ambitious album showcases his potential as a solo artist.
